“Have known the evenings, mornings, afternoons,
I have measured out my life with coffee spoons;”
-T.S. Eliot, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufock

The title Pea Green Coffee Cup comes from two things that are pieces of my life and story just like this comic is. The color Pea green comes from a favorite children’s story/poem that I love called, “The Owl and the Pussy Cat” by Edward Lear. The dynamic of a wise owl and an agile cat falling in love and sailing away in a, “pea green boat” resonates with me. Coffee cup represents one of the few invariables in my adult life. I have coffee every morning and I drink from a green coffee cup. The narrative of the song The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufock by T.S. Eliot means a lot to me as a representation of the feeling of being an adult just like The Catcher and the Rye meant so much to me as a teenager. It deals with a lot of very human emotions and adult feelings. Loneliness,  insecurity and trying to figure out who you are in the world and how exactly you fit in are all elements that influence my comic about life and I hope it reflects that. I hope you enjoy reading the comics as much as I enjoy making them.
